Tags comparison

A real useful service to help you on selecting the best tag or migrating from one chip/inlay to another without time-consuming pilots and trials.

You probably know that some RFID tags are not performing well on liquids or metal... but did you know that some materials you usually attach them on affect their performance, too? Cardboard, plastic, wood,... Even if plastic is PVC or PTFE makes the tag to perform better or worst! Materials also affect differently depending on the frequency range (ETSI, FCC), and with this test we can even detect whether on-metal tags would work on non-metallic surfaces or not.


Effect of materials

We will provide you with all the details from your tags, but what you finally want to know is "which is the read range for each one?" We will of course provide you with this information, too, for a given system parameters (reader transmitted power, antenna gain, reader sensitivity). You will quickly know how your tags will perform on field, in real world, with your own readers or even with readers you have still not acquired.

We will provide you with all the details from your tags, but what you finally want to know is “which is the read range for each one?”

Testing population of tags is probably the most amazing test we have ever done. Of course we all know that one tag can affect another one when they are placed near each other... but how is this effect reflected into reading distance, sensitivity or backscatter power? Are there models of chips or tags which behave better with hundreds of tags surrounding? Is population also affecting the performance if I want to read just one tag? Is there an optimum reading power to make an inventory of the 100% of the tags, instead of using the maximum power available?

TIPP Grading

TIPP Grading (Tagged-Item Performance Protocol) is our most requested service, as it is based on the TIPP standard developed by GS1, which allows any retailer, supplier or system integrator, to choose the right tag for a given item and use case.

The TIPP Guideline is a set of documents that outline and explain the tagged item grading methodology, test configuration and grade definition, for specifying and verifying tagged item performance between trading partners (typically retailer and supplier). The guideline allows retailers the flexibility to set performance levels for their use case and suppliers the flexibility in how they meet grade levels from multiple retailers.

Why TIPP?

The TIPP Guideline is a set of documents that outline and explain the tagged item grading methodology, test configuration and grade definition, for specifying and verifying tagged item performance between trading partners (typically retailer and supplier).

A unique ERT Code, generated for each test, certifies that the results on your report have been obtained with both the required methodology and equipment, thus authenticating the performed tests for you, your customers and partners.
